Painter Lead - Alvarado, TX    Apply
Responsibilities: Serves as a "Working Lead Person", thus also performing the duties of the Painter and/or Blaster as needed. Responsible for overseeing and delegating daily task to assigned employees. Efficiently use the company’s computer system (Epicor/Vantage - MES), to collect labor hours and track process information on each job. Supervises employee duties to ensure Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals are being met. Responsible for training production employees as needed. Ensures all daily production cards are filled out properly with the correct cost centers, part numbers, job numbers, and time worked on parts. Insures housekeeping is maintained in area. Creates a team environment based on mutual dignity and respect. Assist in the implementation of the master plan to ensure goals and project delivery dates are met. Assist in the organization and development of personnel. Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task, have strong communication skills and ability to lead and motivate employees. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED preferred; (or) must have successfully demonstrated leadership capabilities in a manufacturing environment. Bilingual preferred but not required. Must learn how to effectively use the Epicor/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, bill of materials, as well as, train new and existing employees. Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals. Must be able to read and write English. Must be able to or learn how to read a tape measure. Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials. Must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing.  Lifting up to 50 lbs. for males and 35 lbs. for females. Abnormal amount of heat due to the heating process. Purchasing Manager - Alvarado, TX    Apply
Responsibilities: Supervise subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, and evaluating performance and initiating corrective or disciplining action. Determine and develop vendor sourcing for manufactured and MRO items through the analysis of optimal pricing, delivery, and quality mix. Evaluate and use outsourced services where appropriate. Carefully review and obtain required approvals for all agreements for outside services. Prepare and issue purchase orders and change notices staying abreast of production schedules. Coordinate with other departments, such as Sales, Engineering, Production and Inventory Control to meet and exceed customer expectations in the performance of his/her duties. Work closely with the Director of Steel Sourcing to coordinate terms of purchase orders, delivery schedules and other related matters. .Maintain Vantage price lists, establish and maintain part minimums; maximums and safety stock levels. Requirements: Minimum 5 to 7 years broad purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing ERP/MRP systems within a medium size company. 5+ years in a Purchasing Manager position. Engineering Supervisor - Alvarado, TX    Apply
Responsibilities: Supervises Engineering personnel and schedules the projects at proposal and job processing stages. Responsible for the technical management of all structural engineering related aspects of transmission and substation tubular structures including development and support of design proposals, processing jobs, interpretation of the customer's technical specification, development of technical procedures for the department, assists in the development of the engineering software, and development of design methodologies. Offers technical solutions for field issues. Maintains Engineering Manual. Supports the preparation of CAD drawings, collaborating with manufacturing and procurement processes. Communicates with customer via phone, letter, fax, email and in person. Maintains the accuracy of the designs produced in the department by reviewing the related analysis & design calculations. Cooperates fully with all departments in order to experience smooth flow of work throughout the company. Responsible for the technical training of the engineering personnel on various engineering and related topics. Conducts engineering meetings and prepares minutes. Attends different meetings (technical, supervisory, sales, production scheduling, system setup, trainings, safety, STS Quarterly All Call Meeting, etc...) in order to fully support the policies and procedures of Sabre Tubular Structures.
Requirements: B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis on Structural Engineering. 10 to 15 years of experience in the design of Transmission steel pole structures, at least five years in an engineering management position, five or more years working in a manufacturing environment and three to five years in a supervisory capacity. Be able to perform structural analysis and design of transmission and substation structures and their components. Strong technical and personnel supervisory skills. Multi tasking capability. Good verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Civil Engineering (Structural emphasis) or S.E. preferred.
Plant Superintendent – Night Shift - Alvarado, TX    Apply
Responsibilities: Directs and coordinates all plant activities regularly reviewing performance against operating plans and established standards and provide reports to subordinates and management on results. Makes changes and corrections in operations as indicated. Employs innovative solutions and creative approaches when possible.  Assists the Director of Operations in overseeing all financial aspects of plant operations including profitability, manufacturing efficiency, and cost reduction and containment. Assists in preparing a facility budget and operating forecasts and monitors results against budget. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Minimum of 8 to 10 years of successful manufacturing and operations experience and 5 years of management experience in steel fabrication (or similar manufacturing environment). BS degree preferred. Demonstrated progressive experience in a manufacturing environment. Extensive knowledge of MRP/ERP systems. Demonstrated experience in implementing lean manufacturing. Experience handling bulk products and material. Demonstrated success in building and effectively managing teams of individuals. Must have acted as the focal point for insuring that objectives are accomplished on time and within budget. Experience in business management with understanding of financials, forecasting, planning, and reporting. Thorough, best practices knowledge of all areas of manufacturing. Current experience and demonstrated knowledge of GMPs applicable regulations and laws. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to assess a variety of abstract facts, formulate reasoned alternatives and positively communicate decisions and solutions. Proven track record of building support and credibility with all levels of employees. Experience developing strong working relationships in a multicultural environment. High energy level and enthusiasm with the ability to focus on agreed recommendations and results. Current computer skills and ability to do financial modeling.
